Booking and Release process -- Knowing how it works can help you avoid mistakes

Booking and Bail in California

Whether a person has been arrested for domestic violence, DUI, DWI or any other offense the process is the same. Persons taken into custody by the Altadena Police or Sheriff's Department will be held at either the Altadena Police Station Jail, Sheriff's Station Jail or will be transfered to the Los Angeles County Jail (IRC) and will be kept there until their first court date called the "Arraignment." Bail is allowed to be posted in any facility 24hrs a day, 7 days a week.

Before a bail bond is turned in and accepted, the arrestee must pass a background check through "Live Scan", which is a machine that is linked to a county, state and national database. That database will notify the authorities of any possible holds, warrants, or aliases that might prevent release or increase the total bail amount of an arrestee. Once the results of the Live Scan come back from the various government agencies, that person is then "cleared" to bond out. At this time, a jailor will review and accept a Bail Bond for an arrestee and release them on the Bail Bond.

From the time a Bail Bond is turned in, it takes between 30 minutes and 3 hours for a release depending on the facility where the person is being held. Release times do vary based on the workload of the Altadena jail's staff as well as the type of facility. Once out, a person will need to complete his or her part of the paper work, take a picture, and make sure to show up to each and every court date thereafter. It is recommended that you hire a Altadena criminal defense lawyer as soon as possible.

More about Altadena California

More about c

In addition to being bail bonds agents we are proud members of the Altadena community.

Altadena, is not actually a city in California, it is an unincorporated census-designated place in Los Angeles County and as of its last census in 2000, is home to approximately 42,610 residents. The area is located approximately 14 miles from downtown Los Angeles. The development of Altadena was made possible by Benjamin Eaton who, from the mid 1860's, first developed water sources from his vineyards located near the edge of Eaton Canyon. The water sources also made possible the development of both Pasadena and South Pasadena possible. Because Altadena is an unincorporated area, it is overseen and run by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors who had complete legislative, executive and judicial powers. The Board of Supervisors is made up of five members who are elected by geographic district. Altadena is home to main interesting sites such as Christmas Tree Lane, The lane stretches from Woodbury Road all the way to Altadena Drive. The trees were first brought here by John Woodbury, the areas founder, in 1883. The trees are Deodar Cedar, originally found in Italy, were brought over, and after being grown for two years, placed on what is now Christmas Tree Lane. This has been holiday attraction in Altadena since 1920 and is the oldest large-scale outdoor Christmas lighting attraction in the world. The lane has been given landmark status and every Christmas members of the Christmas Tree Lane association adorn the 110 still standing trees with lights. These trees also happen to be the official tree of Altadena and the areas official flower is the California Golden Poppy. The golden poppy, unlike the deodar cedar is indigenous to the southland and was a landmark for Spanish sailors coming to California. When sailors arrived, they would be greeted by a sea of gold, calling it, sabanilla de oro, or 'altar cloth of gold'. As for those who founded Altadena, such as John Woodbury, his house, built in 1882, is still standing in its original place and is occupied.
